The Gorman Rupp Super U-Series of self-priming centrifugal pumps are among the most efficient solids-handling, slurry and wastewater pumps available. Their unique hydraulic design and smooth wall volute casing minimise friction loss and drag, and the multi-vane, open impeller makes for a high-efficiency operation that can still handle limited solids.
The Super U Series pumps not only deliver high efficiencies (up to 75%), they also perform efficiently across a broad operating range. Varying demands that cause pumps to operate right or left of its best efficiency point will affect operating efficiency by only a small percentage. Useful features include external shimless adjustment, dual protection of bearings and an “easy grip” cover plate handle.
Removable Rotating Assembly
The entire rotating assembly can be removed without disturbing the pump volute or pipework. Jacking screw holes are provided to assist with removal. This allows for quick and easy installation of a spare rotating assembly, resulting in less downtime.
Easily Removable Coverplate
The front cover can be removed by simply undoing two or four handles depending on the model, allowing easy access to the pump internals. Check valves, impellers, and wear plates can all be replaced via this cover, and any blockages can quickly be removed.
Multi Vane Solids Handling Impeller
The multi-vane, open impeller is designed for high efficiency. Constructed of ductile iron, the impeller will handle up to 1-1/4″ (31mm) diameter solids, making it perfect for wastewater pumping.
Dual Protection of Bearings
Atmospheric isolation of the seal cavity provides positive protection of the bearings. This unique design also provides capabilities for external monitoring.
Exclusive Gorman-Rupp Mechanical Seal
The Super U-Series is equipped with an exclusive double-floating, self-aligning, oil-lubricated mechanical cartridge seal with a stationary and rotating face of silicon carbide or titanium carbide.
