Cornell Pumps

Cornell understands the importance that food-handling pumps play in today’s marketplace. Their innovative single-port impeller configuration with unique offset volute provides the end user with a food-handling pump capable of transporting even the most delicate food products.

Cornell Pumps history

The story of Cornell starts in 1946 when 5 people working at Pacific Pump Company decided to head out on their own. Having a complete service department, they became familiar with what most of the common pump failures were and focused on solving these issues. They realised that many motor failures came from pressure spikes during operation, overloading capacity and water-related failures of the pump end motor bearings. With many parts in stock and facilities to replicate the rest, Cornell could service any model of pump.

However, the Cornell team asked themselves, “can we do better?” and in 1949, the “Rain-O-Flow” irrigation pumps were designed. Manufactured to be irrigation-specific models, the features of these pumps would solve many problems they were seeing in the repair shop.

Cornell Pump Historic Ad

Cornell pumps have proven to be able to pump the cold stuff, but what about the hot stuff? They were adapted to be able to pump hot compressor and cooking oils. One of the biggest crisp brands in the world, USA’s Frito-Lay fried products (i.e. potato chips, corn chips), are cooked with Cornell-equipped fryers. Perhaps even more notable, every McDonald’s French fry sold in the United States goes through a Cornell pump at one point in its short, salty, fried and delicious life. If they can be relied upon by the biggest fast-food chain in the world, just imagine what these food-handling pumps could do for your facility.

Over the past 8 decades, Cornell built their worldwide reputation on quality and reliability. Their centrifugal food-handling pumps are engineered to provide continuous and trouble-free operation. As a matter of fact, many Cornell pumps sold in the 50s are still providing the same continuous and dependable service they did the day they were installed. No one is more committed to making ownership a truly rewarding experience than Cornell, which is why Hydromarque has partnered to supply their pumps with our best-in-class aftercare service.
